Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Ms H. Feng.
Mandarin Chinese. This course will build on previous learning in Year 9. Students will continue to develop skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. By the end of the Year students will have a working knowledge of around 250 Chinese characters. They will also learn cultural norms which allow them to communicate appropriately in Chinese Mandarin. Some modern and historical culture is also included in the course.
Course Overview
Term 1
Communicating in detail about your life at school and at home.
Term 2
Communicating about travel, including: talking about the weather, making travel plans, talking about countries and nationalities, using transport, doing thing together with friends, activities in various locations.
Term 3
Communicating about things to do in the city and in the countryside.
Term 4
Describing family and friends physical appearance and abilities.
Recommended Prior Learning
Year 9 Mandarin Chinese (full year), or HOD approval
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
There is a course contribution of $5 to cover learning resources.
Students are expected to supply their own stationary.
