12ESL

Year 12 English as a Second Language

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Ms L. Harrison

12ESL aims to build on the skills that have been taught in the 11ESL course. There is a strong focus on developing writing skills, some of which will help to equip students who are planning to complete tertiary study. Students will also complete units of work that focus on reading, listening and speaking skills. The NCEA standards in 12ESL are a combination of Level 3 English Language Standards and Achievement Standards. Students need to be aware that they will be expected to undertake regular vocabulary and grammar extension activities at home to supplement the work they do in class.

Recommended Prior Learning
