Year 10 Certificate in Foundation Skills
Course Description
Teacher in Charge:
NZ Certificate in Foundation Skills
This two year course aims to develop and extend a student’s own subject interests and critical thinking. We offer a personalised approach where students learn to develop focus, meet deadlines and direct their own learning projects. The course content focuses on citizenship, goal setting, and work preparation. The interest modules provide great scope for cross curricular work, research and communication. Students will begin the New Zealand Certificate in Foundation Skills qualification. This is NZQA and employer recognised. 11CFS will continue the previous year’s work and further develop literacy, varied subject interests and life skills such as teamwork, self-reliance, initiative and employability. NCEA level 1 and 2 Core Generic unit standards are available in 11CFS as required and by negotiation with the teacher.
In 2024, this is running as ONE option line
