This course develops the career management competencies: know yourself, explore opportunities, decide and act. Students will identify possible career pathways and investigate options for tertiary study and employment. There is an emphasis on employability skills, the behaviours, attitudes and personal qualities that New Zealand and international employers seek. The employability skills are: positive attitude, communication, team work, self-management, willingness to learn, thinking skills (problem solving and decision making), resilience.
There is an element of choice for assessment standards. In Term 3, students will make choices about which standards they will focus on. Students will have the opportunity to gain 20 credits.
