Getting Started with Course Selection

The aim of this website is to provide a guide to students in planning their pathways towards further education, training and employment.

It contains a detailed list of courses to be offered at this school, along with a listing of teachers/personnel who can give you guidance with your course selections.

If you do not know what you want to do in your future, do not worry, that is extremely common. Keep your options broad.

Things to think about:

• What are you interested in?
• What are you good at?
• What do you enjoy?
• If you know what you want to do/study when you leave school - what subjects do they suggest?

• Your school's careers team in F1
• Heads of Faculties and Heads of Departments

Year 9 choosing Year 10 Courses

Students in Year 10 have a number of compulsory subjects. These include English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Health and Physical Education and Science.

In addition to this students are able to choose three full year options. 

Year 10 choosing Year 11 Courses 

English or Te Reo Māori, Mathematics and Science are compulsory.  You need to choose 3 subjects.

Year 11 choosing Year 12 Courses

English or Te Reo Māori  is compulsory.  You must choose five other subjects.

Year 12 choosing Year 13 courses

You need to choose five subjects and you will have one study allocated.
