NCEA Level 2 Building and Construction
Course Description

The Level 2 Building and Construction course is a Level 2 Unit Standards based course that expands the skills learned in the Level 1 course.The practical work and associated design and theoretical components centre round such items as outdoor furniture and team construction of a timber fence and gate.
The students will gain specialised knowledge and experience during the design, planning and construction of various outdoor projects.
The skills learned should assist students in making informed choices about future educational and career options in a wide range of construction fields.
NCEA Level 2
Recommended Prior Learning
12 credits from Level 1 Building and Construction Skills, or HOD approval.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Costs will vary according to each student's choice of project. $120.00 will be charged with the school fees to cover the cost of the students take home project materials.
Pathway
Level 2 Building and Construction course will provide students with a variety of skills and knowledge which could lead to higher level industry related courses and entry to trade related employment.
